Trey124 -> RE: Rausch Creek THCI Event June 2008 (7/2/2008 5:44:29 AM)

Well it was a good turnout around 35 trucks in all. We had a GM VP there, 3 reporters (1 AP out of NYC, 1 German magazine, and Manny from Cluboffroad.com) all of them took pictures and the first two did full lentgh interviews with me and my artwork/tattoo. Warning the AP was in HD so if it ever airs don''t say I didn''t warn you(remember the camera adds 100lbs)lol. The first day I ran the blue/black trail group it was 5 H1s and 3 H3s(GM rep in his borrowed H3, Glen Peck is his lifted Alpha & 35"s, and my H3 on 33"s). We kept up with the big boys the entire day running over some real rocky trails. I admit we had to take some bypasses but not by choice we just couldn''t get over them on our own power. The first casuality was to an H1 who got a golf ball size hole in his tire and without a spare on hand had to borrow a different size spare from another H1 owner. Glen as you know loves to rip off his fender flares on the rocks managed to keep them on, but did pop off the first 2 screws from the rear tires rubbing them. He also had 4 0f the 6 lug nuts fall off his front tire(He just got new rims and I guess they weren''t on tight enough). We had to remove one lug nut from each other tire just to get him back running. I was dragging on my underbody so much that my engine skid plate came loose and fell off, the tailgunner saw it and I had to get that put back on. The second day brought some lighter trails as I ran only the blues and got to meet more people. This time there was only 1 H1 in our group, a couple of H2s and 6 H3s. We had one guy bend up his fuel tank skid plate and 2 people had to get winched out of a mud hole. Other than that we spent a bunch of time on the rock competition course placing our Hummers on the rocks for some great photos. Both evenings had live music and good food. The GM VP even brought along a presentation and video of the new H3T which was shown under a tent in front of the hotel. A bunch more friends were made and more people got to see my work, so when this event comes up again you don''t want to miss it. The event came to a close with the usual awards being handed out yours truly got a pack of nuts & bolts for my skid plate falling off. Glen got an H2 plastic model which they sawed off the front wheel to remind him how close he came to losing all his nuts. Rausch Creek has something for everyone and it shouldn''t be missed. I sold my H1 model and got a couple of new orders.
