Saturday morning came and a couple of us hit the lake today with canoes and some kayaks. I had the biggest canoe on my H3. The day went fine and we had a lot of fun. We packed up and were on our way out when we saw 4-5 little kids, maybe 8-10 years old riding bikes. My two buddies were ahead of me (one driving a Grand Cherokee and another a Blazer), they passed fine, but one of the kids yelled out at me "save the environment, go to hell". Unbelievable... I was on a time crunch to head back home, but if I wasn''t I would have turned around and informed their little misinformed minds about who is truly ruining their precious environment. Even in the little kids minds they have been brainwashed into thinking that Hummer some how ruins the environment. I said "give me a break" and kept driving. What is this world coming to?

Stupidity is just something your born with. But your taught ignorance by your parents (as this kid no doubt was). It''s only when you have the brain power later on in life to search out truth if one wants to. Other wise, they remain ignorant.

Do let it wreck your day, kids are only as smart as their parents when that young. (and there are some really, really ignorant parents out there).

Crappy, liberal leaning education system is turning out a bunch of ignorant automatons. They just spew the same mindless drivel they are taught without even knowing what it means. It is a constant battle to keep these teachers from ruining your kids.

Its just parroting, just repeating what their parents or teachers are saying with out really knowing the facts or the truth. Yes, its a real shame. Unfortunatly as someone else said on one these forums. "This green, enviro friendly attitude is now pop culture and is taken to the extreme . Everything related to it is their bible."

a co-worker of mine (actually two) told me last week now that I bought my second car I don''t have to kill our environment anymore. I thought that was ironic, considering one of those people drives a beat up old Dodge Caravan, first generation.

Yeah, that thing does WAY less damage to the environment then my ''06 H3. [8|] If it was a kid, I might have cut him a break. Another irony; he used to be a chemical engineer.

It was just a perfect day to go out and hear that at the end of a good day is a real downer. It is sad what America has come to these days. I could only imagine what they would say if I pulled up with my pair of Jetskis attached to the 3 :). It makes me mad too. No one appears to have any common sense anymore, except for you guys of course.

Haha!  My kids would differ and jump at an opportunity to adopt your rules!  [image]http://www.hummerforums.com/micons/m11.gif[/image]

Jealousy starts at a very young age. So many parents have taught their children to only believe what they are told, and to put down those that intimidate you. My guess, those same children would have been the first to jump in and ride a trail if their parents had one!
As a primary teacher and mom, my goal is to teach children to think for themselves and to make good decisions. Look for resources and get accurate information. If Johnny says the sky is falling...does it mean the sky is falling?? I got into an interesting argument with a co-worker. He told me I was setting a poor example as a teacher by driving a HUMMER to work.  Boy,did that get me started!
