Hello everyone...   I have been reading the forum till my brain hurts because I want to understand as much as possible about the in''s and out''s of the H2''s.

Now seems to be a great time to get a good deal on large vehicles with the gas prices the way they are.  I dont drive that many miles so it doesnt affect me as bad as some.  So now is the time to get my toy!

I have been looking for a white 2007 SUV.  Found one and waited to long because of how far it was to look at it.  So my loss because of a 4 hour drive.

But a friend of mine owns a high end car lot and is getting a Desert Sand 2005 h2 adventure suv on trade from a good customer of his.  All I know about it is there is a roof rack of some sort but I will have to wait on the other details.  The deal is, it is a great price.  $18.5k.

I am torn between the one I really want which is the 07 in white and a great deal on the 05.

Any advice or things to consider between the 05 and 07 would be greatly appreciated.  (I know the warranty is gone on the 05 so that is one issue.  Airbags on the 05 are another.  I have to check carfax to see if it had any service on those)

Wait and get what you really want. I think you would like the 05 just fine but it probably won''t scratch the itch if it isn''t exactly what you want.

There is no difference between those years. I had 05 and it ran great, no problems at all. Oh yeah the 05 mirrors were garbage, most of them broke with curb view feature. You can get them changed out on a TSB by GM. They will install the newer 06 mirrors. But wait for what you really want.

Thanks for the input.....    I will be looking at the 05 in the next week just to see if it would be something I would love.  I have never driven a H2. So I am looking forward to seeing this thing.  If it doesn''''t strike me as ''''mine'''', then like you all suggested, I will wait for exactly what I want.

I did find out the 05 has the large roof rack, but also has a brush guard of some sort with driving lights.  And it has under 40k miles.  Of course just out of warranty but I may look into an aftermarket warranty if the 05 fits my needs.  Carfax is clean as well.  I would like to find out what repairs it has had.  I thought Carfax had some of that but apparently not.  Where can you go to find out what repairs have been done?

Take the VIN to a dealer. Carfax misses lots of stuff. You will love the H2. It is a phenomenal vehicle.

Take a couple for a spin, You will love it. The only regret I have is that I didn''t buy one when they first came out. We have only had ours going on 8 weeks now. Its a new left over 07) and LOVE IT!

TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin that was released to HUMMER techs. In this case it was saying how the 03-05 mirrors FAIL, ALOT and to REPLACE them with the Newer 06 and up mirrors. I had mine done under warranty, but I''ve heard if you have a good relationship with your dealer, they can squeeze them out of GM for no cost even without warranty!!!
