So ever so often I get the check engine light come on. Pull code and thats what I get. Sometimes, if I let the truck sit over night it clears itself in the morning. I took it to the dealer, they said whomever owned the H2 before me had a cone air filter but never removed the adapter after putting back the oem filter. The tech removed the adapter and "cleaned" the MAF and cleared the code. Guess what? The code and light is back so I have to go back to the dealer...yet another Saturday morning spent at the dealer. Any ideas on what to suggest to the tech to look for? His words exactly "I can almost gaurantee you thats whats throwing the code". Obviously he was wrong, although they did say they would credit me for the $187 I paid him to fix the problem. Do you think a new MAF sensor will remedy the problem? Any advisce, experience? Oh BTW the light usually gets triggered when its hot outside after hard acceleration or when passing Thanks to yall

Could be a bad MAF, or could be caused by K&N oil migrating downstream and collecting on the MAF electronics. I''d be a bit worried since he "cleaned" it, he may have done more harm than good. There are a few other sensors that could cause this code, like a bad MAP, but that''s unusual. Did you get a P0102 too? Water in the aircleaner will cause these codes too. Does the MAF still have the screen in it?

P0101 Mass Air Flow (MAF) System Performance This is the catch-all code for MAF problems P0102 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit Low Frequency P0103 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit High Frequency These two codes will get thrown when water hits the MAF
