Does anyone have experience with chrome plating accessories?

Have you ever heard of anyone chrome plating a rack?

Wow, you guys were an encyclopedia of knowledge on this particualr topic!

FYI - I did a little research and the following is an actual quote to chrome plate a Gobi rack and ladder:

This would mean a total investment of 5k for a ladder and rack...booo

Rack $1500 to $2000
Ladder $800 to $1200

The final price may vary slightly depending on the amount of cleaning, straighting and repair work necessary to prepare the part(s) for chroming. (Unusual pieces, outside of classic car, classic truck or motorcycle parts, may require a phone call to get a closer estimate.)

Delivery: Expect 3-4 weeks for delivery. Please call if you need rush service.

Warranty: Lifetime warranty on all bumpers.

Shipping: Quoted prices do not include shipping to and from.
