Am planning on an Alpha in Black with Cashmere interior, sunroof, no factory Navigation, add the redesigned Back-Up Cam, black brushguard and black roof rails.

Then add 35" BFG KM2''s or Terra Grapplers with 20" rims, an Eclipse CD/DVD/Navigation with Sirius and AMP PowerSteps like Bob has.

Yeah! The 2009 H3''''s will have a Big Red DOT in the middle of the windshield and will have a voice chip that says "Would you like the extra large Slurpee?" when you start it.

Thanks Mahindra or TaTa whoever GM sells out to :-(

In all fairness I own a Mahindra compact tractor, and let me tell you it''s a really nice piece of equipment. John Deere and New Holland better smarten the hell up or these guys will bury them. Mahindra makes SUV''s and trucks outside of the US and they are planning on bringing thier trucks to the US in 2010, with a line of diesel powered equipment at decent prices. These guys have been building diesel powered jeeps and SUVs in Asia for years and they know how to make off road equipment better than Tata which bought Land Rover as an investment only. In anyone could keep the Hummer mystique alive these guys could pull it off. Mahindra hand picks thier dealers, they just don''t sign up anybody and they make sure they advertise to thier key market all the time. They make lack the history of the big brands but they have quality on thier side and that matters.

Yeah, yeah. yeah, I read their web page and know that they still make CJ Jeeps with diesels in Dot Head land but it''s hard to compete in a global market when everything we hold near and dear to us is killing us.  We all want the middle class American dream, that includes the Joes and Janes who build John Deere.  We want a house, car, good health insurance and a vacation every year.  Nothing wrong with that, at least I don''t think so, Osama Obama may feel differently.  Mahindra on the other hand doesn''t have to deal with such factors because they pay slave labour wages, their country subsidizes gasoline prices, they don''t give a rat''s azz about pollution, etc...  The only thing that''s going to keep American manufacturing here in America is Americans!  That includes you guys who buy Jap tires for your H3.

There is a nealy 3% price increase coming in ''09 and bye bye rebates.

I would bet that with the panic occurring now with the industry and the thought processes against the freedom of choice to drive what you want to drive that limited production is going to occur.  Dealerships will order units that don''t have power, but have tons of accessories.

wasn''''t there a release from GM saying that H3''''s are being scrapped from the lineup and 2009 models are no longer?

Is this true?  Has anyone seen this press release?  I was waiting for the 2010 model, however if they are going to discontinue it I might as well plop my $$$ down now while I can get the 0% Financing.

well, i think what was confirmed by both forum members and dealers after i had asked the question, was that the "next generation" H3 is no longer on the table (i.e. new engine, model refresh options, etc).  However, what that means for H3 models post 2009 is largely unknown.

Dealers are saying that they are taking deposits and ordering "2009 models" and that they will be produced (these include the Championship edition model and the H3 Alpha model available with cloth seats) that were supposed to be already have been released. Apparently GM''s been slow to get past disputes with s and other suppliers that it''s brought current H3 production to a halt apparently over a month ago.  Moving forward, it appears that the next steps for the model will largely depend on the next owner for HUMMER and what they do for "refresh" models or next gens.  It all but appears that GM''s turned it''s back on the HUMMER brand and is simply doing the minimum until it can dump the division.  IMO, the HUMMER brand in a foreign market, unfortunately, may be exactly what the doctor ordered.  At least the new owner has the opportunity to hopefully bring new life into model globalization, marketing, and updates of the brand giving more exposure/use worldwide through diesel engine options, 2WD drivetrains with AWD availability, etc.
