radak99 -> winter tires (6/22/2008 3:28:41 PM)

It''s the second day of summer, so naturally I have started to look for winter tires. Actually, I just purchased a set of 16" stock rim to use as winter rims so I can keep my 18" H3X rims in the garage in the winter. I''ve read lots of threads on people using A/T and M/T tires with good results in the winter. Does anybody have any thoughts or suggestions for straight winter/snow/ice tires? I was thinking Bridgestone Blizzak, Michelin X-Ice, Nokian Hakkapeliitta SUV or any other dedicated winter tire. I am assuming winter tires are going to be better in the snow and ice then any A/T or M/T tire. I am looking to have the best traction possible on ice, light snow, and deep snow. I live in Saskatchewan and 5 months of the year we are covered in the white stuff. Anybody got any suggestions?
