I''ve been looking into the GPS devices like Garmin and TomTom. Anyone have one and what are your likes/dislikes about them? I would like one that shows POIs on the screen and talks to you like the Nav radio in the Hummers......Any info would be great!!!

Either will do what you want. I have a Garmin Street Pilot 2610 and my son has a Garmin Nuvi 250W. I just like Garmin. You just need to go to bestbuy.com or something and click COMPARE on the 2 or 3 you think you like and research it like that. My niece has a TomTom and is fine with it though.

I have the Garmin Nuvi 660, it has Bluetooth, MP3 player, picture viewer, Audio Book reader, it''s talks to you, shows closest food, fuel, hotel, etc. and has other features.
They just came out with a new model that can understand what you say to it.
I do know that the Garmin that I have has all the trails that we drove on down in Wharton State Forest, not sure how many have that much detail.

my wife has the TomTom for street use and loves it. It has rest., POI, talks to you, etc. Not sure about the offroad trails but don''t think so. For directions, etc it is very easy to use.

used ours all weekend. Found us a hotel, a couple of gas stations, the church, etc. Worked flawlessly.

Garmin Streetpilot 7500

I love it... a nice 7" touch screen works well for me.

That is a track log that monitors where I have been... I think it resets at 10,000 miles but I''m not sure.
