Check the audio/video forum, I have the alpine IVA-W505 with the Blackbird Portable Nav unit. It is one of the more expensive ways to go though.

A few things I REALLY like about my Eclipse is I can have the NAV and a CD/MP3/DVD on at the same time.

It has a proprietary slot for the Nav disc, and another slot for whatever else. The Nav is great and it works AWESOME as a DVD player. I have it output to my visor and headrest monitors.

The 7" screen is AMAZINGLY crisp, and the stereo aspect ROCKS. Has AWESOME sound/clarity!!

I''ve seen this one online- the unit in its self looks real clean and crisp. How is the display and its options

Display is nice, very clear. options are many, but they are pretty much all add-on modules. they can get pretty expensive. but in a year or 2 when you want a new headunit, they will all work with it. Ive had my HD tuner for probably 2 years, same with the xm tuner. I have some install pics in the audio/video forum.

I really liked that one whan i looked at it. I said to my seld that i was goin to get a double din but being that our radios sit do low on the dash i was reconsidering it and thinking of putting a slide out, that way it would sit up a little highte when it came out and it would tilt back so there wouldn''t be a glare. I dont know, what are your oppionins on a double din vs. a slie out?

Well, I off-road a lot and I didn''t want a unit that allows dust to get inside. This is one of the factors I considered when I purchased the Pioneer AVIC-D3. The idea of bouncing around with a slide-out unit also bothered me. I originally wanted to mount my CB below a single-DIN radio in the double-DIN spot.
