Alright. Since the world is going bat feces against the HUMMER in the market, I figured it might be a good time to look into an upgrade. I can definitely get a good price on an 08 Alpha. Problem is I just bought my 07 in December, and I am worried that I will take a bath in trading it off. Anyone with real-world current trade prices from a stealership on trading away their H3? I would hope that a HUMMER dealership would be most giving, but you never know. Thanks in advance!

Greg

I think location would have a lot to do with it...certain markets are killing Hummer resale values and certain ones are not. I know in NJ the market values have not dipped all that much.

I am in Huntsville, AL. When I look up kbb.com values though, I am shocked to see the trade in figures. Less than $20K for a 07 Adventure with less than 10K miles!

yea, trade in values have sucked for some time...I agree with ya there! I''m hoping it will help me out when the lease on my 06 is up though!! Should give me lots of room to negotiate a lower buy out price

Good time to buy a new or used Hummer as prices are dropping.  Which basically means its a bad time to try to sell or trade-in.  Regardless of what the KBB value is, many people just aren''t interested in buying SUV''s and big trucks right now.

Shop all the dealers in the area. One will want to make a deal.

Although good deals on trading your H3 are slim I would think the best opportunity would be with a Hummer dealer.

Anything you might lose on the trade could be made up in rebates on the new one, currently $5K. I bought my 08 about 2 months ago, only 3k in rebates.

Buying a Hummer is good right now, selling has seen better days (that''s the market for you)...

I was at the Dealership yesterday (not to trade, just have a bad habit of hanging out there). Now is the best time to buy one, wish I could say the same thing for the trading part.

Yeah, I don''t think I''m a prime candidate for a trade. Lots of desert pinstriping from narrow trails; 2 rock scrapes (one on rear fender, one on bumper); dented front skid; 24K miles in one year; 2 chips in windshield; "reshaped" rear bumper from landing on rocks; 5 gouged wheels from rock scrapes . . . so, those trade in estimates are definitely high for a truck like mine

They love what I''ve done to my H3, but they did tell me that I would be better off trying to sell it myself instead trading. Because I have changed everything on it that I would get more money from someone that liked what I did as opposed to trading it in for the masses.

Did I say that right?
