New H3 - Which add ons first?

Snow Yeti -> New H3 - Which add ons first? (6/16/2008 7:03:59 PM)

I did it. I got my H3 with the 3.7. I couldn''t pass up a "used" 08 for $24K. Plus, they gave me a great deal on my 03 Taco Double Cab. Free plug for Superior Hummer of Kansas City and Larry their salesman. Great to work with.
Ok now what SIMPLE add ons? Doc if you read this have you developed the CAI for the 3.7 yet? Can anyone advise on an decent exhaust system - not looking for big noise just better power and performance. Then what else? Since I just got it, my money is tight right now but in the future I want to start doing my add ons.
Lastly my H3 doesn''t have the hitch and wiring. Do I have to go to the dealer for one or can I go to Uhaul?
I''ll take any advise you all can give. Thanks.

OEM trailer hitch requires bumper modification. The Uhual might be a better option at this point.

It''s in the CHROME Baby!!  I added a tuned PCM, Duals and my own K&N CAI design.

Once you bleach it out the dead body smell goes away. Actually it was a fleet vehicle. It has 16,700 miles - it was sold 08/07. So the miles are a little high BUT I also got it Certified which gives me 6/100K BUMPER TO BUMPER!! I figure I couldn''t beat the deal.
OK I''ll hit up Doc about the CAI and check Uhaul for the hitch.
Any suggestions on which exhaust? Again not looking for the noise. I know there''ll be an increase in sound with a free flowing but I don''t want the obnoxious noise of my teenage years.

PCM tune is a good one.   2008 H3 kits around the corner, testing now and waiting for a blasted performance air filter!!  [&o]  Alpha to follow.

D Vade.....$28K for an 07 H3 trade in your area?  wow, someone might need to pick up a few on the market than take them up there and make a few bucks.

alrock -> RE: RE: (6/18/2008 12:15:47 PM)

If you don''t mind the hitch below the bumper, do it yourself with a hidden hitch from etrailer.com. Bolts right on and the wiring is there. There are few threads here that can help you.

To get the OEM hitch you have to replace the rear bumper - about $500 I hear. I doubt the dealer would swap bumpers/hitches from another vehicle but you could try.

I''m happy with my Gibson exhaust and my PCM tune. I may get Doc''s intake to supplement my Airraid.

If you''re going offroading - well, that''s a whole new set of add-ons!
