Hummer fans - I''m doing some research and running a poll about whether people will buy new H3''s now that they know it''s likely being sold/discontinued. I''m trying to avoid the extreme reactions the brand gets and figure out what will happen to the market for the car given this announcement. Here''s the poll

If your in the market for a top of the class off road vehicle than I would still buy a Hummer.

The consensus answer here will be yes most would still buy one. I bought my 2006 H1 Alpha after they announced the production halt. Actually got me to buy a little sooner than I would have.

Makes two of us.  As far as the possibility of the discontinuance or sale of the Hummer a la H3, I am 50/50.  Part of me wishes to purchase sooner given the speculation but another part of me who is wanting an American vehicle would not be interested if the brand ended up in the hands of a foreign company such as the Indian companies mentioned within the past couple of weeks.

I''m waiting for 2010 when/if the new 3.6 V-6 becomes available.  If GM sells the brand then I will have to reevaluate my decision based on who owns the brand and thier reputation and plans for future development.

I wouldn''t "Buy" a Hummer in a million years, but I do and would lease one.  I knew the re-sale was going to be in the toilet,...so buying wasn''t even a consideration.

Now a low miles lease is a different story.  I drive mine less than 10,000 miles a year,...and I write it off as well as the gas and insurance.  So it''s no big deal, and the parts and servive will be around as long as GM is.  But if I had only one vehicle and had to put all 28,000 miles a year on it,..it could never be a Hummer.

My lease is up in a couple months.  I might lease another if the payment is low enough.  It was still up at $270 a month (almost $300 with the taxes) for a 24 mo lease on an ''08 last I checked.  If it comes down to $250 I''ll probably re-up.

definitely would love to buy one (american-owned/made) right before the potential sale happens.  then, throw in storage for 10 years, so id have a new one once mine gets old and used purely for off-roading
