This is a bad problem with the H3s and Canyons!!! Mine has been back twice for this issue. (Search posts "bad smell or burning smell from A/C). The problem is there's a cheap plastic connector that connects the A/C fan wiring to the ballast resistor on top of the evaperator housing behing the glove box. The ballast resistor restricts voltage to the A/c fan so it can run at different speeds. Like any electrical resistor (ie..your toaster) it creates heat, the heat melts the cheap plastic connector and it stops working. Sometimes it blows the fuse, sometimes not. The next time it melts and the dealer replaces it with another cheap plastic connector I'm going to fix it right myself with some high temp electrical connectors.
