You just take the nut off the valve stem and the sensors come out. You should make sure your new wheels will work with the sensors. If there is so much wall thickness at the valve you will not have enough room to get an air chuck on the valve. See my new post here on the subject.

Yes, the sensors are epoxied to the valve stem. You take the valve stem nut off and the whole unit is removed from inside the rim. When they mount the tire I believe they put the valve side of the tire on first, then they put the sensor/stem into the stem hole on the rim, put the nut on and mount the other side of the tire.

Hope your wheel situation is less frustrating than what I went with today. 2 hours in Discount tire and running back and forth to Chevy. Good luck!

yeah i bet it's going to be a pain in the butt, cause when i get these wheels they are going to be already mounted and balanced and it looks like i'm going have to dismount the new wheels so i can put the sensors in and including taking off the tires on the factory wheels also

They will have to be rebalanced because of the sensors too. I am assuming you do not do serious off roading because 24" rims will really get chewed up. Also, off road having the long side walls cushions the bumps. If my factory 33" tires did not have so much of a side wall bludge my rims would have been bent.

At what PSI does the low pressure warning come on?
Is there anything out there that reports what the actual PSI currently is?
Had a '01 vette with the sensors and it was in the display center but I haven't seen anything like that on the H3....

no i don't do no offroading at all, especially not when i get the 24" rims, the tire will be real low profile 305/35/24. i want to be careful with this size of tire.
