Since we bought our new H2 about 3 weeks ago we are seeing about 1 H2 out of about 500 cars on the road. For the most part the look the same. Everyone we have seen so far does not have the extra tail lights in the rear bumper as ours does.

So, how can you tell the difference in years? What year did the extra tail lights in the bumpers come out?

Paul

Not sure on the tail lights in the bumper. There are few changes in the model years. There was a minor change in the stock wheels, mirrors, some colors were only available certain years but unlike a lot of car models there weren't many changes thar are readily apparent.

I have been looking up pictures on the net and the years, but can not get a clean shot of the back end of them. Kind of cool it's hard to tell the diff between the years. You always have something in style.

I might have know there was a mod for the tail lights. The mods on these things go on forever. I can't buy them all, but I have a good start already!

Mirrors changed in 06. And I believe the bottom tail lights were added in 05.

Hello Friend,
Yes, the rear bumper tail lights were introduced in '05.
If you would like to add them to your vehicle, it can be done.
If your mechanicly or electronicly incline then you can do it yourself.
If not, then you'll have to have a shop do it for you.
The part # for these lights are as follows:
Left bumper tail light #15100038
Right bumper tail light #15100039
You can go to www.gmpartsdirect.com and order them for around $55 each.
They come with the light bulb and bulb holder installed.
BUT they DO NOT come with the harness electrical connector.
The connector has to be purchased separately.
I don't know the connector part number, but it is the same one used for the front turn signal lights.
In the Hummer Harness diagram for the turn signal light, it is item #8.
This connector is very expensive from a Hummer parts dealer $50.
I suggest you try to get two from a local auto wrecker, since this connector is standard.
Keep us posted.

as per my message, I ahve an 05 and no lights..... I would live to be able to find these in Canada, I have seen them on Ebay before but they always sell for a lot more then $50 and then there is a HUGE shipping charge, customs, duties, taxes, etc.....

Until we bought ours, we never noticed if there were tail lights in the rear bumper of any of them. We just knew they are an awesome looking rig. After we got ours, is when we noticed the difference. We haven't noticed the difference in the mirrors yet (but are looking).

Looking at our tail lights in the bumper, it looks like an easy add on. Are the bumpers the same from year to year, just some have tail lights in them? (There is a place for them or you have to actually replace the end cap of the bumper)

Thanks BassGear. That tire cover on the H2 we bought was just one of the many selling points when we test drove some H2's.

Found these, and they are awesome looking, but it doesn't read there are a conversation or if you already have to have tail lights in the bumper 1st or not.

If I were you I would just buy the 49" LED light bar for under the hatch and add backup lights in that spot....

BTW... 2003 was the only year for the Antenna on the roof.... and I think only 03's had Hummer on the steering wheel... 04's say H2.
