Well I broke down and called the dealer. I have the Lux package, original owner opted out of the chrome package, added the off-road package, and kept the smaller tires. This was a customer special order vehicle. It also has all the equipment installed to enable it to be towed. Thanks for all the input though!

Chrome package isn't standard in the Luxury, just very common.  The only H3 packages it comes on standard on are H3X (1SD) and Alpha (1SE)...sounds like you got the off-road suspension too -- IMHO, sounds like a nice truck!

The only strange thing is that the off-road suspension package would have included the 285 33inch tires, even on the lux package.  The previous owner may have wore the factory set out and gone w/ the less expensive 265 replacement.

You know, I never thought of that. Hmmm... The front has the pigtail so the tow vehicle's lights control the lights on the hummer. It also has the tow bar mounts located in the front. Honestly I was going to take those off and see if I could ebay them. I'll research the flat towing as well. I have a CJ5 (i'm pretty proud of) that I disconnect the driveshafts on when towing it. I thought the same thing about flat towing an awd or even 4wd even with transfer cases disengaged and tranny in neutral, that is, until I bought my H3. Never crossed my mind. I guess the pretty black and chrome blinded me!

Here's a pic of my other baby. She's got 46K original miles. It's a 1969. Good year! Ha! Been on the Rubicon and Sierra Trek!
