I have heard that the Hummers (not sure if H2 / H3 or both) are prone to the windshield cracking from rock chips. Anyone had any problems like this and if so, how often? TIA

Mine hasn't cracked, but my Jeep did the first week I owned it due to the verticle windshield.  I think it is a chance we take to drive a cool car.

I always get road rocks and winter salt flying up onto the windshiel...I can't stand it! If only people didn't drive in front of me I would be okay.

Sam, No need to off-road to pick up a windshield rock.  I got my first one on I-4 within the first month of ownership.  It's just the way it is with flat windshield vehicles.  Ask and Jeep owner...

Yep! My Hummer has 5k miles on it and the windshield has tons of tiny pits and I got a nice bulls eye from a rock on the freeway. I fixed the bulls eye with one of those kits you can get at the auto store. It has an injector thingy that I didn't believe was going to work...but it did! I can't hardly tell it's there unless I look really hard in the right place. I totally recommend using this product...$11 and I have enough left to fix a few more as they come along...which they most likely will!

None of my windshield chips came off roading, they were all on the highway.
