hummerron,
For the $147.00 Deal? What do you get with that package? Onstar offers different packages for different service, but the level of monthly rates increase with more features.

blackbear,
I pay $28.90 monthly for the full package that includes the turn by turn navaigation and a few other features. For the $14.97 package I doubt very much that it has all the features. I just looked up the rates and for $18.95 you get the safe and sound package. This package does not have the turn by turn feature. So....your $24.95 still is a bargain!!!!!!!!

ditto, got the email that Onstar was going to automatically be billing my credit card after expiring in July.  Called up, talked a few seconds with the rep, and got the yyearly renewal extension to the plan for less than $12/mth.  with the two add'l months, it works out to $10.65/mth for 14 mths.  i have the gps option on my blackberry phone at $9/mth so it all works out.

Same here, I was automatically billed for the $19. per/month and when I called to question, I was put on hold & the next person I dealt with said, "So, your unhappy with the $19, I will lower to the $12 then" !  I was saying to myself, did I complain?  No I didn't but I'll take it!!!  Thank You On-Star!

I just got off the phone with OnStar and they renewed me at $149 for 14 months.  I didn't have to negotiate much at all.  I did try to see if I could get it lower, but this seems to be where they are holding the line.  If anyone else can get it lower-go for it!

my onstar is about  $100 a year give or take. I moved my phone to my verizon account and i share minutes with my cell phone for about $10 dollars a month . This seemed like the best option for me @ the time

I also called over the weekend and lowered mine from the $28.90 a month for the full access/ driving/turn by turn down to $22.00 a month.

Reviving an old thread just to let others know.
I did not renew my onstar service which is up tomorrow. They just presented me with the opportunity to renew the service for $149/yr $12.95/mo.

I didn''t call them at all, I let it expire and they came to me.

I just got the automatic renewal notice today at $18.95 per month, so I called to complain that I had heard of much lower rates.  The rep assured me that $18.95 was the standard rate, best they could do.  That being the case I had her pass me off to the cancellation rep.  Turns out that rep could give me a $12.95 rate or $149 for 14 months.  Of course I had to ask him about the two free months with a full year payment.

So the long & short of it is - talk to the cancellation rep.

First dude you talk to won''t/can''t deal. Just tell them when you call that you are canceling because it is too expensive. They will transfer you and that person should offer you a 12.95 deal. I pay month by month. It''s a one year deal before the rate goes up again. The guy told me to call after 11 months and try and renew the same deal next year.

They offered me $12.95 per month or $149 single charge for 14 months.  I jumped on the lump-sum option.
