Hi,
I'm a new Hummer owner and have a white H3 adventure pkg. and I fell deeply and maddly in love with it since the day it was delivered.
But often when I start er up, something in the drivetrain clicks and lurches like it was partially in gear. I didn't think much about it as there is lots of moving parts and moving parts make noise. But the other day I started it up and was bombarded with error messages on the data center. I got a Traction Control error, Stability System error and a 4x4 error. None of the 4x4 lights came on and it would not shift into any of the 4x4 settings. I hit the stem on the tach to clear the messages, restarted the engine and it all seemed fine again.
I called up the dealer and they said it was a warranty issue and they have heard of reports recently of this happening. Apparantly something with the 4x4 shift motor failing or not being strong enough? They scheduled me for wednesday to replace the motor to prevent it from happening again. I don't mind as long as its definately a warranty deal and my dealer has a test track in the back that I could definately kill 2 hours on while its being serviced. But has anybody else heard of this kind of thing happening??

Yup..to ease your concern, it's an easy fix and yes, a few people have reported this same anomaly.

Some as myself, have cleared the problem ourselfs, with cycling on a weekly basis, the 4WD functions...This keeps the associated components free and moving.

I guess that proves it then...If you don't use it, you lose it.
Thanks for easing my pain.

I had the exact same issue. They replaced the motor that engauges the traction control and all is fine. It only took about an hour and a half to find the problem, fix it and wash the H3.
