Here is an interesting article which does a nice cost analysis just to show that you might not be saving what you think you are: http://biz.yahoo.com/brn/080502/25295.html?.v=1&.pf=family-home Of course these numbers aren't absolute, since everyone's circumstances are different, but I wonder how many people do a similar analysis before making the move?  Me?
