I always wondered what I may need to do after a good day of water crossing / mudding, then I read in a recent issue of an off-roading magazine that I need to re-grease some things afterwards.

Any ideas what may need to be done on the H3?

There really isn't much you can grease, basically every thing is sealed, I think that sucks.
When you have a vehicles that have grease-able ball joints and so, its a good thing to grease them after going through water and mud to push out all the crap that could get in, not the case with the H3

It sure does BUT are those ball joints etc. replaceable? I know they are on some trucks but what about the Hummer?

I had a good shop replace the ball joints on my old Ford that had sealed joints and he replaced them with greaseable ones. Good choice!

I just replaced both of my lower ball joints a few weeks ago. The lower ones are "pressed in" and are sealed. Now the upper ones are a different story. They have screws that you install them with and have grease zerts so you can grease them. The problem I ran into was that when I ordered them from Rockauto.com They sent me Upper ball joints. So I called customer service there and come to find out that Spicer which who makes the ball joint had the wrong part # listed. So here in lies a bigger issue, EVERYONE was trying to sell me the same part which was the wrong one. I ended up ordering through the overpriced dealer who had to order it of course from somewhere in Texas. Time frame on this was three weeks. Hope my nightmare answers some of you questions.
