I was driving tonight low on fuel (it had said 20mi left) up and over a hill from my home. As I reached the top I lost power steering and power brakes and the truck had stopped running. I still had radio and other power. Hard to stop a hummer with no brakes or steeing on the 3mi desent. I put in 2 gal of fuel from a gas can but still no help. I have power but when you turn the key the engine does nothing at all. Any ideas??

Thanks
Rob

you ran it out of gas.... what do you need help with?

2 gallon is like spitting on a forest fire.... fill it up and hope that you didn't **** something up relying on a computer guestimate....

The part that really baffles me is why in the hell would you run a truck that gets 8-10mpg down that far on gas....  My orange fuel low light might not even work for all I know... thats how ofter I let mine get below 1/4....

if the engine turns over but won't start than you burned up the fuel pump which is located in the fuel tank. if it doesn't turn over at all check the ignition fuse that is located under the hood on the drivers side. we have had a lot of H2'S towed in after they have run out of gas.

Dropping a tank can't be fun...or cheap.

Good post, I was going to mention the fuel pump possibility. Mine currently has half a tank...    Think I'll go fill her up!  lol

It was only 4 days ago...you can't declare him an official one and done until at least a week has gone by.
