FUEL SAVER PERFORMANCE Got it

haiminger -> FUEL SAVER PERFORMANCE Got it (5/7/2008 9:18:54 AM)

Has anybody seen this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GAS-FUEL-SAVER-PERFORMANCE-SPEED-CHIP-HUMMER-H2-AND-H3_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33597QQihZ024QQitemZ370048419559QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

I do not need the extre HP, But with the never ending rise of oil prices, any fuel saving is a good thing.

Thanks in advance for your advice

Haim

I'll stick with my magnets on the fuelline for more MPG

Dan,

Was the comment in reference to having magnets on your fuel line meant to be sarcastic or are you actually testing this theory?

The reason I ask is because I have read about this theory and it's subsequent tests. I was wondering if the conclusions of higher gas mileage were true or if the individuals just drove more efficiently knowing that the magnets were on the fuel line.

I've done the magnets, the resisters, the Tornado, etc. None of it made a difference. The Resister/"Chip" just changed your computer reading for your air intake and eventually will damage your engine. It's all BS.

I just pick routes that are always downhill and with the wind.

it's just a resistor you can buy at Radio Shack for $1 (and at least that's all he's charging for it).  you then just tape it in place.  not sure what the function exactly is, but i highly doubt you'll gain 10hp and better mileage.  i love the lifetime guarantee: free replacement, just pay shipping - where 85% of his cost is.

not if you wait 12 hours when the Earth has spun 1/2 way around.  then the gravity has changed, and you will be pulled up the hill.  sheesh, didn't you learn anything in school?  [8|]

Nova

I was being sarcastic for sure.

If there was any cheap and easy way to get more mileage or power don't you think the GM engineers would have figured it out by now?

I am going to try 40psi in the tires and will try to keep it under 70mph to see if my mileage improves.  I have a short comute so most of my weekly trips are streets and freeways.  I am considering adding a fairing on the front of my roof rack too.

HummerGuy -> RE: FUEL SAVER PERFORMANCE Got it (5/7/2008 12:58:03 PM)

I've been conducting a little experiment with my H3 the past two weeks. I have driven to work quite often, but set the cruise at 65 and have not driven past that. My mileage on my H3 went up big time. I'm talking 120 miles on a quarter tank. I had about 215 to 220 on the half way mark. That's pretty good. When I filled back up and set the cruise to 70 (mind you, this is not stop-and-go, but 90 to 100 miles of highway traffic) my mileage went down. Instead of that 120 miles on a quarter tank, it was at about 95 to 100. I've done this cycle twice on both settings, no traffic, to and from work.

My next test will be going 75 most of the way, but I doubt I can realistically do that if traffic isn't that great. I pretty much proved to myself what I thought all along, that in the H3, 65 is the magic number you don't want to pass before your mileage takes a plunge.

Keep in mind, I have the PCMforLess tune, the AirDoc intake with K&N Filter, and the 5-speed manual transmission. I'm sure that all has something to do with it.

Disnydad -> RE: FUEL SAVER PERFORMANCE Got it (5/7/2008 6:15:17 PM)

I'm also currently running tests with locking the speed at 65 MPH max.  Couple more days I'll run the numbers.  Prior to this I was stealing the sons Hyundai whenever I could.[8|]

Don't get this resistor, I bought one for my Dodge Ram and it did nothing!

HummBob -> RE: FUEL SAVER PERFORMANCE Got it (5/8/2008 12:50:17 AM)

Yeah, Luckily going to work and back to home is Downhill, BOTH WAYS!!![;)][8D]

Disnydad -> RE: FUEL SAVER PERFORMANCE Got it (5/8/2008 11:55:38 AM)

Just finished my test.  16.259 mpg for mostly around town and a couple of 40 mile interstate loops for a total of 311.2 miles

Wrongway1 -> RE: FUEL SAVER PERFORMANCE Got it (5/10/2008 5:45:49 AM)

Best thing you can do is stay away from the discount gas stations & buy from the more expensive corporate owned stations like Shell.  They are not adding alcohol, and actually will get you higher MPG's (yes I have tested this & have the reciepts to prove this).  Since the change, I am consistantly in the upper 17's to lower 18's & believe me, I don't drive slower than 70, and still run 34lbs in the tires!!

Forney -> RE: FUEL SAVER PERFORMANCE Got it (5/10/2008 12:18:53 PM)

I don't know how hilly many of your areas are but my daily drive is and cruise kills my milage
