I'd guess that since manufactures are starting to do this that yes it is worth it. The new MINIs 07+ with the BMW motor have this... except in the US. The EPA testing wouldn't account for it so they saved the $ of the electronics by not putting it in.
Other things to consider.
-When you go to buy new tires, go a bit shorter.
-Check the weight of the tires (and wheels if you are changing them). Less mass is always better, Less rotating mass is even more betterer.
-Only fill your tank half way don't carry around gas you don't need.
-Park it.

Ya know what? Maybe you shouldn’t have bought the damn thing to begin with! Hummers are not exactly economical vehicles and you should have done your homework before buying it. If I wanted a economical vehicle I would have bought a Mini Cooper. I knew exactly what I was getting into when I bought my H3 Alpha. I’m getting anywhere between 11 MPG & 15 MPG depending on my driving habits. Sure I’d love to get 20 MPG but it ain’t gonna happen. All Hummer owners have 3 choices when it comes to fuel mileage and they know it.
1) Live with it and enjoy their Hummer
2) Park it!
3) Get rid of it!

yeah really!
by the way I think REEF_H3 meant things do do to improve gas milage like inflating tires, lubricating, cleaning filters and stuff like that, not to get great milage but to gt the most he can...

Doesn't hurt to do the little things that help so that you can drive your Hummer a few more miles and get more enjoyment.

By the way I got 14.9 mpg in the H3 Alpha this saturday driving 400 miles. That included about 60 miles climbing rocks and inclines and the highway miles were at an average of about 80 mph. Would have been better without the sliders, UCP, diff, axles, etc protection underneath. Not bad

1st i didnt have a choice in what vehicle i was given so i took what i got, i know right poor baby. And second you guys were right, i wanted to better my gas milage, i wasnt complaining what i got. I just wanted to see whati could do to make it last longer

Everyone had some very good ideas of how to ease the pain and save some money at the pumps and perhaps use less fuel in our H3's. Since it's only 04:00 hrs and I didn't have anything better to do I thought I'd I compiled a list from everyones suggestions. If I missed any I'm sorry.
1) Avoid idling.
2) Reduce weight
3) Keep the engine tuned up.
4) Remove any cargo racks when not being used.
5) Clean air filter,
6) Fill your fuel tank half way don't carry around gas (extra weight) you don't need.
7) Don’t use discount gas. Buy Brand name gas i.e. Mobil, Shell etc.
8) Clean air filter
9) Use synthetic motor oil
10) No jack rabbit starts
11) Keep your Stock tires fully inflated
12) Slow down (below 2000rpm)
Keeping your stock tires properly inflated and slowing down are probably the two most important things you can do to help increase fuel milage.

No matter what, you are right. We all knew what we were getting into when we signed on the dotted line. Not a whole lot we can do about it now, but drive em, park em, or trade em on something more fuel efficient. Other than the window sticker that pretty much told me I was not buying the H-3 for the gas mileage, the brick-like exterior let me know the fuel efficiency was not the number 1 priority in the vehicle's design.
I might be showing my age here a bit, but this is not my first Rodeo with sky rocketing fuel prices. I remember in the late 70's when the price of gas doubled in one night, and then they rationed it to even and odd fill-up days. We lived through that, and this situation will more than likely run the same course as the previous two or three times.
However, this is just my two cents.
