Hello from Colorado

twilhelm -> Hello from Colorado (5/2/2008 3:51:03 PM)

I just purchased my first hummer last month - an H3 luxury.  Taken it up into the mountains a couple times already, mostly on easy stuff.  I have some experience with hummers, having been in the army for 8 years.  I only mention that because I can really tell the difference between the two vehicles and know the H3 is something I need to learn about from the beginning (the first thing is I cannot use a high-power washer to clean out the inside of the H3 like I could with the army version).  [:D]

Anyway, I have a picture to post.  The dealership that I bought mine from gives away something free to prior military, which can be seen in the background.  Needless to say, the hummer gets better gas mileage.

Ok, that's enough jokes for now.  I've a lot of reading to do, so see you around after I get caught up.

Hi Tom. Welcome to the forum and concrats on the new Hummer. Glad to hear you are already getting it offroad.

Welcome.
I have a friend named Tony who lives in Denver.
He took me up to to the top of Big Momma Hill in Left Hand Canyon in his H3.
There are spots that are so steep that a winch definitely comes in handy.

twilhelm -> RE: Hello from Colorado (5/3/2008 6:36:16 AM)

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.  I've kicked the tires (so to speak) of this message board, and it looks like there is a lot of great advice and members.  Glad to have found it.  Thanks for the pics link as well, novasaigo.  Not ready to do something like that... yet. [;)]

I did buy the H3 specifically to get outdoors more, and will be looking for some good camping / fishing areas in the state that provide some difficulty to get to.  The typical fishing areas (which I can get to with my mustang) tend to be overcrowded and overfished.  Ready for something more isolated and memorable for the family.

Anyway, thanks again for the warm welcome, and I look forward to catching up on all the threads.

Never wheeled in Colorado but there have to be some great areas and scenery.
