Yea i'm also really hesitant when it comes to adding on things under the hood.  I've heard too many horror stories!

You just got my vote Skip, I would cry if my H3 got that dirty as it would take me a week to clean it. we went off road at Xmas time mountain biking 70km of dirt and dust and stone chips it took 2 months to get it clean again.

22 PSI, what was he thinking, That is extremely high unless his block was sleeved. You should never run more then 8-10 psi on a stock motor.

Agreed.

Especially on a blower... His intake temps must have been absurd.

Sorry Skippy but he actually fitted the Turbotecnics Turbo..the same one I have had fitted. He took that to 22 and blew his engine and has declared they are a heap of crap and is now fitting a supercharger.

The turbo he said is crap is working fine on mine so far. I am really pleased with the increased power...just gotta do something about the bloody blow off valve..sounds like the exhaust hitting the chasis each time it goes off!

Of course because I drive so sedately, it doesn't go off very often....much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just spoken with the guy who fitted the turbo and he was not happy with the apparrent mis- reporting.

He bought a H3 and immediately rebuilt the motor in his performance workshop. He then fitted the turbo as an R&D project and took it to 22 at which time the turbo shaft broke. This was done to test the limits of the kit as he has told me that he tests kits/products on his own car before fitting to customers.

I beleive this to what happened but he has a strong accent is sometimes difficult to understand.

He also told me that the kit requires quite a bit of additional work such as a bigger fuel pump, ceramic coating of pipes and moving of the air temp sensor. The question is that if it is necessary why wasn't it included in the kit from Turbo tecnics.

I am happy with my turbo at the moment, but if he proves to be right and I have additional cost or reliability problems down the track I will be pretty pissed as there was no mention of this when the kit was purchased.

Maybe someone from Turbotecnics, who are monitoring the forum and forwarded the thread to him, will now come out from behind the curtain and explain the situation. Does their kit require this additional work or not.

I have given the kit a good report on this and other forums so i would appreciate them putting my mind at ease..are they right or is he?
