What is the best way to prepare my rig for the winter months. There is going to be alot of salt on it. I have "iced" it but I was wondering if there is anything additional that could or should be done.

I'm not doing anything different to mine. Although I wash under the vehicle every time I pass a car wash. I hate salt , especially the sh!t they use here in PA.

Now that I have the H2, I can't wait for the first good snow storm.

ORIGINAL: Dennis Best advise I can give for the winter season.. #1. Apply a good coat of Maguires NXT Tech wax (easy excellent stuff), Do even all the door sills and door edges. #2. Give it weeky, if not more, fresh water wash downs on above freezing days..Try to find the places that have undercarriage washers. Uhm Dennis, After Halloween, the next ABOVE FREEZING DAY I'll see is in March or April

From my experience with salt, the best advice over anything is a good fresh water power wash as often as possible including getting the water under all of the stuck on trim and in every crack and crevas you can find. Salt will sit in those places and start to rot your vehicle if it isn't rinsed out. For the non salty areas, a good bath on a regular basis is just as benificial. More or less treat it like you do in the summer, if not a little more regularly. as far as fluids and the rest of the drivetrain, that depends on how cold it gets in your neck of the woods, and wether you keep it on a garage or not.
