I recently installed a K&N CAI on my 2008 H3 but there is a problem with the air injection system.  The hose from the air injection system fit onto the stock airbox.  The aftermarket system has a seperate small filter for the air injection system.  The computer is detecting the different airflow and thinks there is a problem so it puts the check engine light on.  When I get it checked the dealer tells me it is the air injection system and it does not work with aftermarket air systems.

K&N said that their aftermarket system is supposed to work without needing any further adjustment so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do.

Are you sure that system was designed for an 08? I thought K&N hadn't come out with a CAI for the 08 yet. There is a big difference between the 07 and 08 air boxes.

so if the hose fit on the stock airbox... can't you modify the K&N to add a hose?  you have a plastic one?  or the steel one?

Pictures might help...

I have to agree with Hummerhead's question:

I have an aftermarket intake on my 07 and have had no problem. I can't find one for my wife's 08. The airbox's between the two are drastically different

I just talked to K&N on the phone the other day and they DO NOT OFFER OR KNOW WHEN a system will be avalible for 2008 h3's. It sounds like to me you tried to buy a CAI for an 07 0r 06 and now can't understand why it's not working.
If you can post some pics maybe we can help you make this work hell I know I hope we can becasue I want a cai for my 08 so freaking bad.

That's what it looks like.  Looks like you guys are right.  The instructions that came with it say it is for a 2007.  I did not order it from K&N directly but from another website.  I entered 2008 into the drop down menue and this is what they sent me.  Bummer.  I was able to make it fit but there must be some tuning differences in the 2008 because even though it fits the computer doesn't like it.
