cigarlvr -> Anyone using the AIRAID Cold Air Intake and PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer (1/7/2006 7:28:03 PM)

Iam looking to get some more MPG as well as a few more HP. Anyone useing this system and how does it work well or am I better off with the K&N and then using the spacer.

i would use the k&n and skip the spacer, my parents put a spacer in their h2 and it was the biggest waste of money, it didnt save mpg, and it didnt add any hp

Go with the  H3 Hummer K&N 77 Series High-Flow Performance Kit and upgrade your exhaust.  I did all three with my 2006 H3 and like others here I am using the TBS as a paper weight.

I also have k&n cai and gibson exhaust  made a huge difference

Right, the spacer is a gimmick and waste of $$.  I have the K&N and my own designed runner tube sans the resonance box.

I am not a fan of either.

Dont do spacer.

If you do CAI kit with tube, you really need to add a calibrated MAF (Granatelli) to reap the full benefits of the new air intake! Just ask Volant why their kit with tube comes with a calibrated MAF and they will explain why is is needed to gain most performance!

I have a Granatelli MAFs new in box at home if you decide to go this route. Will offer it at a really good price as I ended up with a Volant CAI kit that I didnt know came included with one. Was wondering why the kit was $650, so now I know...

Is it designed specifically for the I5 3.7?  How much?

Granatelli shows part # apps only for the H2.  A PCM tune can do the same thing.

I hope so, as I have both H2 & H3:)

I don't use the CAI or the spacer. I do use the Airaid filter, Gibson exhaust and pcm tune. I believe you will see a HP gain from the filter and exhaust though I doubt you would see an mpg improvement. As I've said in other thread, you'll really want the pcm tune to maximize the benefits of these add-ons and improve the driveability of the H3.

Want to increase the mpg? Drop the roof racks, if you have them. Drive slowly from a stop. Increase your tire pressure, etc. All of the common sense things.

rhill20 -> RE: Anyone using the AIRAID Cold Air Intake and PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer (12/21/2007 5:19:08 PM)

I have both, the Airaid Cold Air Quick Connect and the TBS. Thank god I got them both really cheap due to knowing someone that works for Airaid (he still swears that it makes a difference) $170 total.

I have to say that I think the only thing that really makes a differnce in mileage is driving style and time. I just put my second tank in since going over 5000 miles and I am getting close to 18 MPGs mixed driving (city/HWY).

The filters sound cool when get in it though [:)] Only benefit that I've had so far.
