Doesn't look much like the "old" HUMVEE

Hey those look pretty awesome and I hope they protect as good as they look. I also wonder how long it will take the military to get them my buds in the middle east, and I hope its before I join them... Thanks for the update realjeep

Gotta be a heck of a lot better than the M-1114 (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/m1114-pics.htm) we had!  We really wanted an M-1117 (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/asv-pics.htm)

Even those are way better than the M-1025/26 that we drove before I left active duty. This was me and my truck in Bosnia:

Cool! Looks like they finally added window A/C to the driver's and passenger's doors.

Looks awesome, and seems to have protection against the road side bombs!

Even the M1114's had A/c (when it worked) but were exceptionally cramped and about impossible to get an M-16 in and out of, an M-4 would have been really nice!  I guess as this war drags on the situation will dictate the design of the new and improved HUMVEEs but I still would have prefered a M-1117!

You can only protect from road side bombs so much. Here was me and my M1151, amazingly no one was seriously hurt.

If anyone had been sitting in the back right seat it would have been a different story. It was just me driving and a gunner. Everyone had dismounted to check out something (usually I was a dismount but the driver had to stay back at the house for something) and we were just moving closer to the dismounts. Next thing you know, boom, most of the rear end gone. The gunner was almost thrown out but all he got was some bad bruising and cuts, that was it. After this, unless we were going more than like 6 miles, we walked everywhere and stayed off the roads.

That looks pretty bad. I never had that problem, just a few random bullet holes going down the back side of mine. I did see that happen 3 trucks in front of me though, was one of my guys. That one didn't turn out so well. You know, the risk of that or anything else happening over there pales in comparison to giving the flag to the family. I hope that if you haven't already that you don't ever have to experience that one.

they have videos of hmmwv's running over land mines in the middle-east on youtube/google, its pretty disturbing to watch that someone was waiting (and filming) for the soldiers to run over it.
