what are you doing wrong, are you trying to lock/unlock with the factory remote and then start it with the viper remote because if you are doing this it will send the car into passlock and not start for 10 minutes. The shop that did mine is looking into this problem, because it only happens on the H3, not even the colorado does this, and its supposed to be the same wiring system. Just use the viper remote and you wont have a problem

Actually, the only way mine works is if I use the factory remote and also unlock it prior to sending the viper start command... If I don't it trips the alarm and locks me out... If I use the Viper remote to lock/unlock the doors it does not trip the alarm but it does lock me out regardless of whether or not the doors are locked or unlocked at the time... Then again, I know mine is not right so this is not a bench mark for anything... What's more I finally found the problem and it is in the fact that this is NOT the same system as the Colorado... My installer thought that too but I finally found that the H3 requires 2 relays and 1 resistor to function and the resistor must be absolutely the correct resistance or it will still trip the lockout and on mine the lockout lasts 22 minutes... I am not clear on all of the terms used but this is a more sophisticated system than the Colorado and it will never work right if wired like it... It is very similar of course but the immobilizer type on the Colorado is a transponder and on the H3 it is Passlock 2... As I understand it, the H3 just requires one more relay than does the Colorado... My installer actually had to make the second relay and it is going in Friday so we shall see just how it works out then... I'll pass on what I find out from the installer then...

Do you have the shop name and number and installer name, so my installer can call him and find out what exactly he did with yours, thanks

It's rayco in shrewsbury mass and the installer there is Josh... I would wait until Friday however because that is when I'll have mine and see if it works... I have a feeling they will figure this one out however becuase one of the managers there just ordered his H3 and will have it in 6 weeks... That would be Bruce...

I talked to the shop that did mine, and they said you are having trouble with yours because your shop completely bypassed your passlock 2 antitheft system, you are having trouble because passlock is a rolling resistance, so everytime you start your car, the resistance changes, the way yours is hooked up, is negating the passlock all together, so if something were to happen like it gets stolen and they find out that passlock is disengaged, they dont have to cover you,

Apparently, the way this MUST be done is by using 2 relays and a resistor... The bypass kits out there are exactly that but the can not defeat the system and fail... Maybe because of the rolling thing mentioned but just not sure yet... As I understand it, by keeping them separate I will defeat the key system by fooling it each time so in the end there is no need to bypass the security system... It either gets fooled every time or the system will not work because no one I have talked to has ever said it could just be completely circumvented... The way I understood it, the H3 security system could not be disconnected or bypassed... It can only be tricked and we are still trying to do just that... Tuesday morning is the next try...

Duplicate post but might save someone some time so...

I finally got mine figured out and it is embarrassingly simple... I'm not sure where I first heard it but the problem with the DEI (or similar) type bypasses, everyone else uses on almost every other system, is that they use a rolling resistance... The H3 has no possibility of working with this setup because it requires both a constant and accurate resistance... What’s more, each one is different so the installer will simply have to measure your resistance as you fire the key... Once you know it, you can use the two relays and the proper resistance resistor (almost exactly what's in the bypass) in place of the bypass and it will work... We did mine yesterday and I have tested it over and over in every possible alignment...

The way you will know you have it right is when you can lock it with the factory remote and remote start it causing 1 beep of the horn... That is exactly what will happen if you trip the alarm while using the key to start it... (lock the door with the factory remote while the window is down and reach in to start it with the key while still locked)... This is the only setup that worked after 7 failed attempts... DEI will undoubtedly be putting it out soon or will defeat the rolling resistance problem it has with the H3's...
