Anyone modding their H3 for offroad has at least 285/75-16. I run a 295/75-16 and many of the offroaders go up to 315/75-16. I don't think too many people go beyond that without putting on lifts or other significant modification.

I run a 33"x12.50R16 and that is about how large you can go without lifting the truck.  35"s can be put on a standard H3 but they will rub when turning and going off road.  Remember you don't see how much the rear tires move when your off road but trust me in saying that you need all that room in the wheel well.

I think to be safe, I'd figure on clearance for a 35 inch diameter tire, as that is getting more and more common these days.

There are a few folks running up to 37 inch tires, but probably not enough to warrant incorporating
that amount of clearance into your design.

Some slots for auxiliary back-up lights would be a nice touch as well.

Can't wait to see what you boys at ARB have got up your sleeve.

Joe
I'd make it to fit up to 35" tyres.
Most people are running 33-35" tires.
Are you going to have room for  a gas can?

Any other news on ARB items for the H3?

Ghostrider -> RE: tyre sizes (4/21/2008 2:48:21 PM)

35's.
And room for a CB antenna mount??
And a jack holder?
And one that doesnt interfere with a Gobi ladder?
And a free one for Ghostrider for the valuable input and/or testing??

Speaking of ARB, I just received an ARB catalog today.......I don't think there's anything in there for a H3 (or any "H" for that matter).  Great catalog - super stuff, I should never have gotten it, now I'm miffed 'cause I can't buy anything. [:D][:D]

thanks for that gunner! products are comming through as i speak, should be some photo's of the front bar shortly, i'll see what i can do- no promises. we don't release products here unless they are %100, no compromises. thanks for your input guys and i will try to take as much on board as possible. we will give 35's a try and if anyone runs something bigger we may also make a carrier relocation bracket. this bar will not have a swing away carrier, space is a premium as it is on the rear. once again thanks, joe, australia.
P.S- the gobi ladder should not be a problem.

Actually it looks like there is something on the bumper part of yours thats not on mine.

Ghostrider -> RE: tyre sizes (4/22/2008 3:32:57 PM)

...and the rubber trim around the lower bumper.
And there is a round and flat side to the chain bracket.  They appear reversed.  Flat corner is the right on yours...left on mine.
..if you want to get picky.
All those years of watching Sesame Street...finally paying off.[:D]

One of these things are unlike the other.  One of these things just isn't the same....
