Basically - get a name brand, get 5w30, get synthetic.

Also, look in the FAQs for oil change tips

I just use name brand 10W30.  I don't use synthetic because I change oil on regular 4000 to 5000 mile basis . . . and the new oils don't break down like they used to 20 years ago anyway.

Use 5w-30 Synthetic.  I use Super Tech from Wal*Mart.  It is cheaper than the other synthetics, but it gets prety good ratings at "Bob the oil guy"  website .  I mean, hell, it's oil, it's synthetic.  It's going to be better than any conventional oil.  And it's cheaper than other synthetics........

If you Google "motor oil" you'll find that Amsoil always comes out on top, although I don't know how.  I use Mobil1, it came in second place and it's easier to find.  Just about any brand name synthetic will work, the trick to long engine life, no matter what oil you use, is to keep it changed!

Since the oil change is such a PITA I use Mobil 1 synthetic.  Every 3-4000 miles vs 10,000 miles

Go the easy route...go to the dealer  My first one is FREE...but after that I will use what I have always been using in all the cars we ever had: Mobil 1

I would more concerned on the type of Filter vice Oil. Though you do have an Owners Manual? Might want to read it sometime it tells you what weight oil to use for particular climates.

I personally have used Royal Purple for the last 5 years. I read about it in a performance magazine and and have used it every since. I have recently seen it at wal mart. Price 6.72 a quart.

Only had one oil change so far and the dealer did it, put synthetic 5w30 (not sure what brand they use) in it. Don't change my oil but about every 7500-8000 miles anymore. 1. I don't slam the accelerator down at every light like I did when I was 20 and 2. Oil is made better then it was then.

Hello to Everyone. Just took delivery of our H3, Labor Day. I "LOVE" it..........Traded in an 07 Tundra. That truck was a PITA to change oil....was one of the reason''s I disliked it. But the H3 makes up for any "oil change" pains in the look''s department. Don''t know why I felt the need to add this, just my 2 cents.
