Scott asked me to go ahead and share the 3 little lights we added to the back of his Sand Flea today...

We decided that the only way it would look good is to get the two H2 lights for the corners... but we added the 3 in the middle.

Anybody that has any interst in doing this can get an idea from a couple of the pics on where/spacing.

Tip #1:  Holding the lights in place with tape to make the marks is a very wise choice.

The back door is 46 1/8"  We marked the center at 23 1/16 and then measured in from the outsides of the door 12" for the outside of the light...

I think it came out great and the wiring was basic 101... FYI the brake light is the blue wire and the tailight is the brown wire.

and since we all know....

Finished:

and some in progress pics...

The first hole!!!!!!!!

Still drilling....

One down....

10" spacing vs 12" spacing....  we went with 12 as I said... taped in place...

2 down....

All done....

He did an excellent job, they look great and I'm very happy with it.  Took our time to make sure everything was even and we had the spacing we wanted.  I was very nervous, we would be in the middle of a conversation and when I would hear the drill I would just stop not even realizing I was doing it.

And no tool kit is complete without a couple of beers in it. Looks really good.

Scott, I told you not to let him have the beer until AFTER the install.  It looks like you got away with it, but that's a rookie mistake.
All joking aside they look really good.

looks good!! I'm thinking about doing this but with strobes instead of marker lights

I haven't looked at it yet...how involved was it to take off the body cladding? the pics Look like two screws and two push in pin things?

It was simple to pull apart.  You only need to pull the lower black half off, the upper half will not give you any extra access.

Crooked lights..I don't think so.  Even if so it still beats tarnished bling!
