They're off last year's pace of one per day.

My brother work in the OR at a hospital in Philly two days a week..he was there on new years day talking to one of the surgeons. at 12:00 am on new years day there were fireworks going off in front of the hospital. At 12:03 a kid stumbled in the front door with three bullet wounds to his chest. He was pronounced dead at 12:05  Surgeon said alright!! We made it two minutes longer than we did before the first murder last year.. 2008 is gonna be a good year!!

Phillygets a bad rap for a few really bad areas...it's a beautiful city for the most part.

Nothing about Philthy is even remotely nice.... they did the city cleanup this year.... what was that.... 7 million pounds of trash picked up off of the streets... and it made no difference.... it looks just as awful as it did the day before...

matter of opinion I guess. to me it's still a beautiful historic city. just look at the buildings and the architecture. I could care less about paper in the streets.

you could care less about the trash in the streets until your 7 y/o picks up a syringe....  then your focus changes

Some parts are nice like around the Liberty Bell, but there is always trash laying around....and that's just the beggars in the streets...j/k.

That's disappointing, as a historical city I've always wanted to go there. Maybe not now

It is a shame. I can't believe that some of these cities lack the will to at least keep themselves clean. Parts of San Francisco and LA are disgusting $hitholes because the politicians are to PC to deal with the issues.

City still wants the tourist dollars, but they don't want to clean up the streets.

Tourist dollars will tail off at some point forcing them to do something. Sounds like you need to carry to go to the grocery store there.
