lots of people don't run them. You should be able to pick some up fairly cheaply.

i have never been stuck in sand or whatever using the runflats. what you are forgetting is that you only need one wheel to get traction to pull you out of what ever you get yourself into. having a runflat on the rim will keep a flat tire from dismounting and just spinning on the rim, also the factory hummer wheels are designed to work with the runflat. the are built with a shallow lip the seats the bead. if you go to mount a set of tires on the factory rims notice how much air pressure it takes to seat the beads. most tire shops have to use a bead blaster to  get the tire to bead up. also because the inner lip is so shallow if you run say 15psi of air while driving in sand or rock crawling when you turn the wheel and the weight of the hummer is behind it you will dismount the front tires. i have seen this happen. i have starting fluid and a book of matches in my tool box when i go off road to do tech support.

It's an M1113 made in 1998 with a 6.5L TD and an 4L80E Transmission and CTIS geared hubs
