Well...apparently I'm 7000 miles outside my warranty, and was told this morning that my Code 420 means the catalytic converter is done...NOT a happy morning...anyone else got this horror story...or words of encouragement? Sheeeeeeeit.

What kind of truck do you have? I believe the convert has it's own warranty.

Do a cross reference and see what other vehicles use the same catalytic converter and then visit your local wrecking yard.

Get stainless high flow CATs to replace the stock.  They are relatively cheap, and any muffler shop can throw them on PDQ.

Good luck.

FYI, just in case you want oem replacement.
http://www2.partstrain.com/store/?Ntt=Catalytic%20Converter&N=10637%201636%204294967262

You might want to check and see if your O2 sensor is not burnt out because that can give you a bad code if there is one after the cat.
