Water Methanol

has anyone tried water meth injection in their turbo diesel H1's.  I am just curious I know this adds alot of timing hence raised cylinder pressures but I was wondering if it may have a significant cooling difference.

I have not tried it and don't believe I know anyone that has.

I've never seen a hummer guy do it but I've seen a couple people put it on there mid-90's chevy trucks with the same engines without much luck. The 6.2s/6.5s are pretty much at there performance capacity with stock cylinder pressure, especially the block - 2 out of the three I know who did it cracked blocks within several thousand miles, and the third got rid of his before it cracked - he had made it to about 8000 with the water meth

Not a good track record. Let us know what you do.

ok there is a guy out there with water/meth injection in his H1.... heres a quote:

"You should consider the water/meth if you run it hard.
With the system on I rarely exceed 850. Plus there is a definite performance boost, specially with a 50/50 water/meth mixture.
"
850 is deg F of EGT

sorry for not much info on it due to the older post has been deleted.

A little more info. Still kind of sketchy

heres another quote:

"Why waste your time with injection? Why not build an intercooler and go that route. You get better performance, more torque, and a bigger impact at highway speeds where you spend quite a bit of time.

Sure it's more expensive, but the benefits are better too. "

so yea mixed opinions but i like that last one... spend the extra $$$ on a intercooler.... better performance and safer.

Makes sense.
