Take some FRS radios and you can talk the whole way or you probably want CBs for the trail. Get a portable and chat away.

There is a lot of history around where I grew up.... I took Lynn to Lincoln's Tomb at Thanksgiving... she is really into Gettysburg and the two just go hand in hand.

Where I grew up was near Lincoln's New Salem State Park.... where Lincoln grew up as a young man and if you sit through the movies at some of the state sites you can hear my family name mentioned... which makes it a little more exciting...

It's like the small town life you have in Ohio.... depending on where you are...

My High School was PORTA High School because that stood for Petersburg, Oakford, Rock Creek, Talulla, and Atterberry

They did get a website a few years ago...

http://www.petersburgil.com/

Yea, it's a big change from DC / VA Beach / Fayetville or just about any military town or big city. I was somehow lucky enough to get sent back to my hometown for recruiting. So if everything goes right, I SHOULD be able to stay right here until I retire.
It's one of those towns where all of us "old Delaware" people can get anything and all of the "new" people just kind of exist here. LOL
Hell, you would have though that I was some kind of hero when I came back. Funny, but nice at the same time. But Columbus is trying to take us over now.
