My brother-in-law buys and sells cars on there all the time. I try to tell him to be careful, but he's the "couldn't ever happen to me" type. I really only buy smaller things on there, don't think that I would ever buy a car on there. I really need to be able to see and touch it before I buy it.

I have bought quite a bit of stuff off of Ebay. Mainly coins, horse tack and Hummer parts.

there was a set of Alpha wheels and tires on sale in Alabama a few days ago. The auction page said the seller had websites with Ebay in other countries and might speak a different language. pretty scary. Auction got pulled before it was completed for some reason by the seller.

never been scammed on ebay before. But if anyone has heard of or used CraigsList, I had a scammer approach me on there.

I've gotten some sweet deals from Ebay in the past and I was convinced that this might be a great opportunity to good to pass. This scam was really slick, well written initially and articulate. What gave it away was the written follow up responses didn't have the same articulate characteristics. The suppossed communication from Ebay really had me going because of it's completeness. I became convinced it was bogus when name and address checks through Melissa Data Lookups came up empty. Also I did MSN maps to locate the address and there was no such street.

So I'll jump at any good deal...but only after due diligence.

I 've been on eBay since Jan-99 and I think I have seen all of the scams.... some are pretty damn good... I've spent anywhere from $.01 to the Bronco I bought off of there... you just have to be careful.

Popo got taken off of Ebay I think.... around Christmas

Almost got taken on a watch I bought off of Ebay when I first started buying on there. Fortunately got my money back. Been very careful since then.
