I'm sure you guys have heard about this already:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23797447/

I just can't believe this.  I understand it, but I just never thought I'd see the day.  It's bad enough we have tens of thousands of American jobs going to India, but now this?  And Ford, of all companies.

Henry Ford is rolling in his grave right now.

"So Mike, what kind of car are you looking for?"

"I'm going to pick up one of those 2010 Tata XJ's"

Can't wait for the Jaguar Moo Moo or the Land Rover Dot.

Ford is doing exactly what I am doing:  Taking a loss to get out of Jag.

My 2003 x-type threw a rod last week. The dealer would not even open the engine to determine the cause of death.  I had to have it towed to a third party who performed the autopsy. My new mechanic was able to determine that the best bet for the failure was poor factory workmanship. He is going to get it running again while I save up for a new sedan to compliment my H3.

Also, I am from Louisiana where we elected an Indian-American governor.  I am not a reactionary to this and the Jag sale.  The world belongs to people who hunger for success.   Stay hungry!

I don't care if it was India, Brazil, France or Zimbabwe.  It's just the fact that they are doing it to a overseas company.  Just in case anybody thinks it's a ethnic thing, it most certainly isn't to me.

I understand why they are doing it.  That doesn't mean I have to approve or like it.

I guess this day and age it doesn't really matter anymore.  Everything is made somewhere else I suppose

I just don't like seeing it happen, that's all.  I'm probably making a bigger issue then it is.  Big surprise coming from me   Anytime you have anything move overseas, even if it's already based there, once the ownership is transferred, I'm sure that will mean less jobs for people at Ford, and probably jobs here in the U.S.  I guess that's what I'm getting with.

Land Rover, Jag, they were all British automakers to begin with anyway. Ford was just a conduit to India for them. Funny that India used to be part of the English colonial empire and can now buy England with cash left over.

OK, so maybe it's not Selling Out, but perhaps, giving back what didn't belong to them in the first place?

Here’s my 2 cents. Jaguar and Land Rover were always foreign made automobiles. After Ford bought the company the “Be American-Buy American” crowd said I can buy a Jag or Land Rover now because it’s made by Ford. What bullsh*t that was! In my opinion both of those cars are nothing more then overpriced status symbols. I wouldn’t own either one of them or a Honda, or Toyota, or Nissan.

Ford lost a ton of money on the deal and good for them. They should have continued to do what they do best and that’s make Ford cars and trucks.

At $7-8.00/share for Ford everyone should be worried.
