Need your prayers **UPDATE**

jdrew -> Need your prayers **UPDATE** (3/25/2008 7:47:10 PM)

I just wanted to pass on to everyone in hopes of getting as many prayers for my girl.

Her name is Deogee (Pronounced Dee Oh Gee). Deogee was a beautiful puppy we got from the humane society about 9 years ago when she was about 15 weeks old.

She was the first dog that my wife and I got and IS our first child. We are unable to have our own children so she was our "first born".

In the last 3 days, she has started walking oddly and shaking, showing signs of pain. Yesterday, she started falling over when she walks and tries to go to the bathroom.

We took her to the vet today and the news is very grim. Not only did we find out that she has spondylosis, but the vet has determined that she has a major neurological problem that is basically turning her into a vegetable without much hope of any recovery. This neurological problem started about 72 hours ago and has progressed to where she can't walk. As of right now, she is staying at the vets office overnight, on serious pain meds and basically, completely knocked out until tomorrow when we find out more. We dont even know if she will know who we are tomorrow because of the rapid progression this disorder.

You may not be a dog or pet lover, but I am begging everyone to at least say a small prayer for her. She needs your help and so do we. It is a very rough time for us and I don't know how we're going to do it. I know it sounds stupid or silly or childish, but she IS our child and we love her so very much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart...

Being 51 I have unfortunately lost several dogs/best friends. My current dog is my 85# goofy, loves everybody puppy of a 10 year old yellow lab. I know what a bad day that will be when it is Max's time. We are all hoping for the best.

Update:

We went to the vets office and by some miracle, Deogee is somewhat normal. The neurological problem is no longer showing any signs of being there. She has a very bad lower back with calcium fusing her bones together... The vet is amazed at her recovery in only 24 hours. (The vest is the same one we use for our department K9's and is used by other departments within 150 miles. He is top shelf when it comes to vets.) We don't have any clue as to why her mind is normal now, but we're not going to question it!

She is now home on a few different medications and is very happy to be home.. We have to kennel her for the next few days to make sure she doesnt do anything "stupid" or dog like... ie: jumping, playing or things like that.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and Deogees heart for your prayers.. We dont know how much longer she will be around, but we will cherish the time like nothing else.!

You guys are AWESOME!
