I'm not sure if this is the correct category / thread area, but I guess the gear shifter handle (aftermarket) falls under 'interior?'

Anyway, I purchased a aftermarket gear shift handle.. I replaced the OEM, and all seemed well until after driving a bit I parked and couldn't get the key out of the ignition. I assumed that the shifter was ever so slightly not allowing the vehicle to be in "park" completely.. It takes severals tries (approx 6-8) moving the shifter - either all the way forward, or back just a bit, before the key releases.. Has anyone else had any issues like this?  I really don't want to go back to the OEM, and eat the cost of the shifter handle, but I also don't want to eventually destory the ignition or something else.. Any ideas - very much appreciated.

How is that little plastic cover that goest UNDERNEATH the shifter and covers the shifting "stuff"!

I know that is hard to understand, but hopefully you get the jist!!!

I know that mine was a little FUK'D up once and it was a chore to move the shifter.

The little plastic cover seems to be OK- visually and mechanically I guess.. For the time being, I've kind of 'McGyver'd' it ..  Thanks
