My friends and I have been kicking the idea around of building a Hydrogen Generator to supplement the fuel in our vehicles.  YouTube and E-Bay are FULL of them and the kits to build them.  I know there are some engineers on the forums and some pretty smart wrenches also.  Has anyone given any thought to doing this and how would the I-5 stand up to supplemental Hydrogen being fed into it?

Yeah, I know what you're saying, Hydrogen is not safe as some inert fuel like Gasoline!  I've never know gasoline to burn, explode under pressure or cause any eco-disasters.  How silly of me!  I guess I'm just a dumb fireman that has never dealt with any hazardous substances, that's a job best left to professional salesmen and paper pushers.  Here's a link proving how dangerous this evil Hydrogen gas is, thanks for enlightening me.

From the little I've read the hydrogen is not stored...but extracted from the H2O on the fly and released into the CAI to combust with the gasoline which is suppossed to add mpg.

That was really biased...what would have happened if they blew up the fuel lines under the vehicle?

That is EXACTLY correct GeeGee, I'm glad someone here has a functional grasp of the issue.  The H is produced P.R.N and introduced into the intake downstream from the MAP sensor.  But I'm going to explain what I have learned, I was asking for input from persons who actually KNEW what they were talking about.

Could you ge the system to work on just hydrogen? Or does it have to have a combination of gas an hydrogen?

Wasn't trying to be offensive there - more power to you if you can get it to work. No pun intended.
