twice now I have been driving in the morning and suddenly smelled coolant. The heat was on but the fan off. Anyone else experience this?

ive smelled coolant a couple times already, i even had to add some (scratching head), about 3 cups worth, dont know if it wasnt filled from the factory or what

Not good... There should be no need to add any so I'd start smelling my carpet under the dash and looking for signs under the car... Those are the easy and therefore good places it could go... If it's leaking into the combustion chambers that is bad...

actually I had my hummer heater cord burnt in the first month
the coolant leaked and burnt, big coolant smoke came out from the vent holes

just got my car back yesterday and now it has coolant smell when I turn on the heat....

very strange... I rarely use the heat unless my gf is with me...
