OK, I tried to keep out of this thread.  Honestly, I did.  But why is this an issue?  Jeeps are NOT better than Hummers.  But guess what...Hummers are NOT better than Jeeps.  They're just different and they are both fantastic offroad vehicles.  So are FJ's, Rovers, and a lot of other nice trucks out there.   They can all go where most of the rest of the motoring public couldn't even imagine.  But somehow, that's never good enough.  Jeep guys want to argue that their rigs are a million times superior to Hummers.  Guess what.  They're not.  The opposite is no more true.

Bottom line, is if you have a car and you love it, then you have my respect.  I don't care if it's a completely blinged out Hummer, of a Jeep covered to the roof in mud.  Makes no difference.  Heck, I don't even care if you're the president of the Yugo Association of America.  If that's you're passion, more power too you.

By the way, I posted this after watching some Hummer YouTube videos.  Makes me sick how ignorant and petty people are over there, so it got me fired up.  Also, this isn't a slam on the original message on this thread.  Light hearted poking fun is good.  When it becomes a 4 page debate is when it gets a little absurd.

Just my $0.02.

JR that is part of what the forum is for. Besides we are all friends here and enjoy goading each other a little. Lots of us have had Jeeps and other 4x4s and know the other vehicles well. I'm taking the H3 Alpha offroad for the first time this weekend. It will be interesting to see how it compares to my old CJs. I will post my opinion and that is all it will be. If people want to debate then so be it.

...and I do agree totally that the forum is for debating this and I fully support healthy debate.  It's just when it gets to name calling, baseless and inaccurate information, and the like that it gets annoying.

Yes, I agree, I can choose not to go on the forums.  And also, don't get the wrong idea.  I wasn't knocking the forum at all.  I really wasn't mad at anyone.  My main point was just that if you love your car I think that's great, whatever it may be.

No problem. When you have been on the forum awhile and know the people and personalities a little better I think you'll see the ribbing and button pushing a little clearer. It took me awhile to figure out that some of the guys that ragged on each other the most were the best friends. I just think you were reading more into the "debate" than was in there. It is all old news and the real wheelers know that the driver and the tires make the biggest difference. Enjoy the forum.

Nope.  Not in this particular thread.  You didn't miss anything.  I was talking in generalities.

yu gotta remember something....we call each other names all the time...but we are all friends. The difference between this forum and others is that at other forums there is a core group of maybe 5-6 guys....here our core group is 15-20 guys/gals...so it may look like we are calling each otehr names and bieng way over the top but we are all friends....stick around and you'll see what I mean.

Hey guys,

I'm sorry to anyone I offended with my post(s).  I'm new to the forum, and I guess I should have lurked for a while to get a sense of the dynamics of the members prior to opening my big mouth based on a single topic.  Again, I offer my apologies to anyone who feels offended.

What if we own both brands? I think that should give us the license to bash either one :P
but yea I have nothing against Jeeps or Jeepers... I own a Jeep and although I didnt wheel it yet(waiting for lift so my long arms dont mess up my unibody) I still love the thing... Start it up every other day and climb the snowbank on my front lawn every so often(love the rear lockers) Also before I bought my H1 I owned a Jeep TJ loved it soo much, only thing I didnt like about it was the size just wasn't big enough to go on trips with or to have more then 3 friends with you... So I knew I needed something bigger and the only thing in my opinion to get rid of my beloved TJ for was a opentop H1, shares alot of stuff with my TJ in my opinion just in a bigger package... Like the aggressive look(even more in the H1 of course), the opentop had to be a plus, can change to various tops, etc etc. But yea If I didnt end up getting approved for the h1 I probably would be rolling in a 4 door JK right now. But as much as I love my jeep I think I love my Hummer more and whenever I see a Jeep vs Hummer thread I cannot resist but voice my opinions. But in the end all who are involved both respect each other for a great debate and have nothing but good things to say about each other in the end. Although no doubt there are just the bad apples that dont care to debate and just have hatred but them guys dont have respect for anything so it doesnt matter.
Basically in the end we both have a 7 slotted grill!
