ok, the chicken and egg pic cracked me up.  as for the pic of the cell site, that's not even close to remote, that's just driving in grass.  i'm talking about the ugly ones with a view, like this

you're right, the journey is the best part of it.  'cuz once you get there you have to do real work . . . .

I loved my 85 CJ7, never let me down. I love my H3, hasn't let me down yet. Different vehicles, yes. Built with different root purposes, yes. BUT, like 3Hummers said, it's a matter of opinion. The Rubi is great, the CJ was great, but I personally don't like anything about the newer TJ/YJ/JK. Just a personal preference. As far as which one is better, The Rubi or the H3? I doubt that around here I will ever find out, so whatever. My H3 will get me though anything that I've seen around here.

Oh, and know this isn't fair but I can't resist:

all I know was this thread was dull and boring before I posted

nothing like a little back and forth to get the board moving again.

Jeep has been around since 1940 give or take and yes there are different makers...BUT...Injun is considering the H1 part of the hummer lineup..which was made by AM general where as the Hummer name now is made by GM..so Hummer also has had a few builders as well.

THis debate is fun for me...I have an 06 h3 and an 07 Rubi, I also have a modded 97 Grand Cherokee that will go anywhere the h3 will go...My brother also just bought my mother a new Liberty that we pick up Friday, so I do like the Jeep line. I am not taking anything away from any truck..jeep or hummer, I love all of them. Granted the H1 is the best off the showroom floor of any off road vehicle....BUT what are we comparing here? A $35,000 Jeep against a $100,000 H1? Thats a crazy comparison. A fair comparison is to take $120,000 and buy an H1 and mod with money you left and take a $35,000 Jeep and mod with what you have left...after $120,000 which one would be better? Lets just say that JP magazine took an 08 Jeep JK, modded the hell out of it, put in a Cumming Turbo Diesel and trans, modded teh suspension to fit 42" crawlers with only 5 inches of lift..and all cost around $65,000 in mods. It was sick and IMO with the weight advantage, low center of gravity, 42" crawlers, twin stick t-case, rockwell axles axles, hydro assist steering  and loads of other goodies I don't think there is another rig on the road that could compete with it. I know this is a stretch but the whole deal would cost the same as a H1 when it was new.

Again I am not knocking either vehicle..just saying to be realistic in your comparisons.

I will admit that the journey to tower sites is a lot more fun than getting there.  Bucking snow drifts and mud bogging is a lot more fun in a company truck because you don't have to worry about scratches.  They expected them to be rode hard and put up wet.  I wish I had thought to take pictures back in those days.

If there is anywhere my H2 can't get me than at least it has the power to get me close enough to get there with my other off road transportation, LOL.

Another horse person.Alright. And you are right, not many Jeeps at horse events.

Rich, no worries, you will never be out of a job.

The H2 has the added bonus of being able to pull a house down if you so desired.  It hauls better than my GMC did.  The only limitation is that I can't pull a gooseneck.  Lately I have seen more and more H2's and even more H3's on farms.  They are in fact capable of real work.

We have an F-250 crew cab diesel 4x4 to pull the gooseneck ( 4 horse with LQ ) There are a few H2s that show up with bumper pulls at some of the events.

You know, I think that we have as many threads about "Jeep vs Hummer" as we do "how to crank my TB's"
