I am a member of some other forums for my other hobbies and the sites have a section that provides posting areas for local clubs.  Through this medium many clubs are started and keep in touch.  They have a section for LOCAL Clubs and then sub-forums for the local clubs.  When a club wants to be added they request it through a moderator.  What do you think?

Hi Lisa.  We are working on that, slowly but surely.  It's coming

this has come up in different aspects in the past, but hasn't panned out.  hummer clubs are few and far between, as are hummer owners.  we did create a "meet and event" section, but it died after a few months.  typically folks just post in the off topic section to set up runs or meets and then continue through pm's.  i've seen regional posts in other hummer forums that are busy for a few months and then just die out.  you've probably already seen posts from anyone on this board that's in your area, so you have an idea of how many members are close.  have you researched to see if there's a local hummer owner's group in your area?  i found my local club through h u m v e e . n e t, they seem to have a good list of what's out there.  i know that hummer x club has branches in different states, you might want to start there, although their runs are open to any 4x4, not just hummers.  you won't find anything local through the THCI, as they don't support local clubs, but your local hummer dealer might know of a few, or at least put you in touch with owners that actually take their vehicles off road (assuming that's what you're looking to do).  personally, i don't think a club, or regional, sub forum would last long here - just more sections for everyone to dig through.
