Today, I ordered my new H3 from the local dealer. They have to get it from another dealer so I hope to have it Thursday afternoon.

I ordered the H3 Alpha with the off road suspension (I really wanted the locking rear diff), with GPS nav, monsoon audio system, chrome package (not crazy about that but I'll live), rear view camera etc.

The truck is graphite, with black interior.

I already have the first off road trips in planning!

Which dealer did you order it from? A group of us are running the Mojave trail Saturday and Sunday. Where are you planning on going?

I ordered it from Tustin Hummer. So far, they have been real easy and pleasant to work with.

As far as trips, I am probably going to just do some easy stuff this weekend, getting to know the truck. I might go explore the main divide road from Ortega Highway over to the 91. Next month I am joining a couple of coworkers going to the northern end of Death Valley.

I am really excited! I always wanted to do off-roading and now that I have experienced it, I am hooked. Off road driving also is a GREAT way for me to enjoy my other hobby photography. -And it's just nice to get away on weekends :-)

So, I expect to be a very frequent user here on hummerforums.com and I will definitely post pictures when I get the truck!

I picked up the truck this afternoon, and have driven it since. I am TIRED, lol!!!!

Having driven an Audi A4 for the past 3 years, this if of course quite a different beast, but I really like it! That new car smell is really quite intoxicating.

Tomorrow, me and my camera are going to take the H3 out for a photo shoot, I promise to post pics as soon as I get home  I know of a nice trail in the saddleback mountains that would be a good place to get know my new truck.

Then, I might just stop by one of the local Sport Chalet's and get some equipment for camping.

So far, the only "mod" I am thinking about, is a different / better head unit for the sound system. My H3 has the Nav / XM / single CD radio but it is really rudimentary and I am just baffled that GM can't sell a truck like this with either a 6 CD changer (even if it was a remote one in the back) or a USB connector, SD card reader or iPod connector. Another reason I am thinking about another head unit, is that I WANT BlueTooth integration with my cell phone. In a couple of months when the Audi's lease is up, the H3 will most likely become my daily driver. At that point, I will need a good way of using my cell phone hands free.

I know that Pioneer has nice head units. Any other suggestions for a GPS nav / XM / Mp3 / iPod / bluetooth enabled headunit?
