Today, I experienced my first drive on the freeway for any meaningful length of time. I am SO impressed!!!!!!!!!! My trip was from Capistrano State Beach back home to Aliso Viejo. Part of this stretch, has these horrible broken concrete slabs that makes cars go "ba-bang ba-bang ba-bang" as you drive along. I am VERY happy to say that the H3 was quiet, VERY smooth and comfortable going over these bumps, I really believe it is more comfy than my Audi A4. Of course I did feel SOMETHING as I was going along, but a LOT less than I had expected. I am _so_ impressed of how the off-road suspension just soaked up these bumps. I am getting _very_ attached to this truck! As I was driving home, some idiot in a Volvo S80 thought it would be fun to drive REALLY close behind me. The idiot was so close that I could barely see the roof of his car in my rear view mirror. This all happened as I war driving along in the right lane, at an indicated 65 mph. The idiot thought it would be fun to beep his horn and flash his high beams. I simply took the truck off cruise control and let is coast down to 50 mph, at which point he thought it fun to pass me to the right, on the hard shoulder. I wonder what I did to invoke his wrath, lol!!!! The fun part is, had I stepped on the brakes when he was super close to me, his (dads) Volvo S80 would have ende dup underneath my H3, after a close encounter with my tralier hitch receiver. BTW: The first tank of gas netted an approximate 12.1 mpg. Love my H3!
